渡辺 慎也 SHINYA WATANABE

1986年、熊本県生まれ。
2007年、八代工業高等専門学校 土木建築工学科 建築コース卒業
2012年よりスタイリスト・勝見宜人氏に師事
2016年に独立後、ニューヨークへ渡米
2017年に帰国し、東京を拠点に活動を開始

カルチャーや個々のバックボーンを大切にしながら、俳優、ミュージシャンをはじめ、広告、ドラマ、映画、ファッション、舞台など、スタイリングから衣裳デザイン・制作までを一貫して手がける。 近年はコンテンポラリーダンス作品の衣裳や企業ユニフォームのデザイン、また熊本を拠点としたアーティストとの協働を通じて、活動領域を横断しながら、衣服や衣裳が持つ表現の可能性を探求している。

私にとって、衣服や衣裳を扱うことの根底には愛がある。
人への純粋な愛情と、衣服や衣裳が人の身体があってはじめて成立するという認識が、私の制作の出発点である。
人と不可分であるというこの本質が、私の姿勢を形づくっている。

Shinya Watanabe
Born in Kumamoto, Japan in 1986.
Graduated in 2007 from Yatsushiro National College of Technology, Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering (Architecture Course). From 2012, apprenticed under stylist Yoshihito Katsumi.
After becoming independent in 2016, moved to New York.
Returned to Japan in 2017 and began working with Tokyo as a base.

With a deep respect for culture and individual backgrounds, he works across disciplines including artists, actors, musicians, advertising, drama, film, fashion, and stage productions, handling everything from styling to costume design and production.
In recent years, his practice has expanded to costume design for contemporary dance works, corporate uniform design, and collaborations with artists based in Kumamoto. Through these cross-disciplinary activities, he continues to explore the expressive potential of clothing and costumes.

For me, working with clothing and costumes is rooted in love. My practice comes from a genuine affection for people, and from an awareness that clothing and costumes can only exist through the presence of the human body. This inherent condition̶being inseparable from people̶shapes the way I approach my work.

2014年、Jerusalem Dance week competitonにて銀賞受賞。
2015年、「L-E-V Sharon Eyal | Gai Behar」に入団。
2020年、ワークショッププラットフォームGAMAMAを発足。第14回日本ダンスフォーラム賞受賞。
2021年、第15回日本ダンスフォーラム賞受賞。
2022年、カルチャーセンター”beq.Inc”をオープン。「WINGY」初演。
2023年、「Can’ｔ－Sleeper」初演。
2024年、「Hi Meany！」初演。（韓国国立コンテンポラリーダンスカンパニー）
2025年、「UNICO」初演。（MODUS OPERANDI バンクーバー）

柿崎麻莉子は香川県にうまれ育ち、新体操選手として幼少期を過ごした。教師を目指して筑波大学に入学するが、学生時代にアーティストがそれぞれの視点で世界を捉え表現している様に魅了され、ダンスの道へ。大学卒業後はBatsheva ensemble Dance Company（2012-2014）、L-E-V Sharon Eyal|Gai Behar（2015-2021）に所属し、ツアー公演やWS指導など国際的に活動。2018年にMusée de l’Orangerie（Paris）クロードモネ「睡蓮」の前で踊るという幼いころの夢をかなえる。ダンサーとしてDior（2019ss）Paris collectionに出演し話題となる。ダンサー活動と並行して振付活動をはじめ、2014年にJerusalem Dance Week competitionで銀賞、2020年2021年に日本ダンスフォーラム賞を受賞。現在は日本を拠点に、国内外で創作活動に取り組んでいる。

自身の作品に、幼少期に自然の中ではじめて踊りと出会った感覚を描いた「The stillness of the wind」（2020）、妊娠出産の経験から日本社会における女性の立場の変化を求める気持ちを描いた「３２」（2021）、パンデミックの閉塞感からの反動で上演形式のライブ性に着目して創作したダンスパーティー「WINGY」（2022）、日本人の5人に1人が不眠症であることを受けて創作された「Can’ｔ‐Sleeper」（2023）、アーティスト長島有里枝の展覧会”ケアの学校”で実施した「パーソナルダンス」（2023）、子供のもつ暴力性を描いた「Hi Meany!」（2024年 韓国国立コンテンポラリーダンスカンパニーに演出振付）、などがある。高度にトレーニングされた身体を用いた感覚的な振付を軸に、パーソナルな経験や問題意識に根差した作品の創作をつづけている。その他、オペラ/演劇/ファッションショーのステージング、ミュージックビデオ、企業広告や企業イベントへの出演演出（ミナペルホネン、ISSEY MIYAKE、資生堂、SHIRO、TOYOTA、DIOR、UNIQROなど）もおこなう。

近年は教育×芸術、福祉×芸術の文脈に関心を持っており、様々な教育現場でのワークショップや講演に積極的に出演。アートとして上演されるダンスだけでなく、身体と感覚の専門家として社会に何が提供できるかという課題意識を持っている。感覚という「身体」への働きかけをとおして現代社会の枠組みによってとりこぼされがちな「個」の存在と向き合うこと、五感を解放して身体への信頼を取り戻せる場を創出することを目標に活動している。現在は文化庁による文化芸術活動基盤強化基金におけるクリエイター・アーティスト等育成事業に採択されたWingsプロジェクトにクリエイターとして参加し親子向け作品を創作中。

2020年自身が海外を飛び回っている時期に日本でのワークショッププラットフォームとしてGAMAMAを発足。現在も不定期でワークショップやレクチャー会を実施している。2022年にアート・カルチャーセンターbeqを熊本にオープン。ギャラリー運営やAIR事業などを通して、文化をカジュアルに楽しめる場づくりを実践中。Gaga指導者。高齢者向けGagaクラスに挑戦中。

Mariko Kakizaki was born in Japan. Trained in rhythmic gymnastics during childhood and started dancing at the age of 18. She took part in Batsheva ensemble dance company 2012-2014 and L-E-V Sharon Eyal|Gai Behar 2014-2021. The encounter to amazing mentors had a great impact on her values as an artist. In parallel with her dance career, she started her choreography career and won the Silver Award at the Jerusalem Dance Week competition in 2014, and the Japan Dance Forum Award in 2020 and 2021. 

“WINGY” (2022), a dance party created with the live nature of the performance format as a reaction to the pandemic. “Can’t-Sleeper” (2023),was created in response to the fact that one in five Japanese people suffer from insomnia. She incorporates personal feelings into her works and uses highly trained physicality to transform them into movements. In 2023, a project titled “Personal Dance” had held at artist Yurie Nagashima’s exhibition “School of Care.” She began to explore the possibilities of dance not as a means of expression, but as a communication tool for understanding others.  In 2021 Mariko opened art-culture center beq in Kumamoto where people can casually enjoy culture and art. She is a certified Gaga teacher.
